Investigation continues into armed robbery of pregnant woman at Lake Illawarra

Police are appealing for help from the public as investigations continue into the armed robbery of a pregnant woman last month.

Shortly after 7pm last Thursday (18 February 2021), a 27-year-old woman was walking along a cycleway near Wollamai Crescent, Lake Heights, when she was approached by an unknown man.

Police have been told the man threatened the woman with a knife before demanding her wallet.

The woman – who was not carrying a wallet – was not injured during the incident and the man fled the scene on foot.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District were notified and commenced inquiries.

As investigations continue, detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 40 and 50, about 170cm tall, with a medium build, and a short grey and black beard.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket with green writing on the back, dark coloured long pants and a black cap.
