Investigation into Burwood Shooting: CCTV Released

Detectives investigating a shooting in Sydney's west earlier this year have released CCTV vision in an appeal for public assistance.

About 9.30pm on Sunday 8 January 2023, officers from Burwood Police Area Command were called to Esher Street, Burwood, following reports of shots fired.

On arrival, officers were told two groups of males had had an altercation before driving away in two separate vehicles.

A crime scene was established, which was examined by specialist forensic officers.

A short time later, investigators were notified that a 17-year-old boy attended Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, suffering a gunshot wound to his arm. He has since been released.

Detectives from Burwood Police Area Command established Strike Force Secant to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

As investigations continue, strike force investigators have released CCTV vision of a man entering a dark-coloured sedan who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man has been described as being of solid build and aged in his mid-20s to early 30s.

Investigators have also released CCTV vision of a white Mercedes GLE Coupe sedan in an appeal to speak with the driver of the vehicle, who can assist with their inquiries.
