Investigation underway after two people assaulted near Coffs Harbour, NSW

Police are investigating after two people were assaulted near Coffs Harbour last week, NSW Police say.

About 10.20am on Friday 17 August 2018, a 57-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman were at the Diggers Beach carpark, near Diggers Beach Road, when they were approached by a group of male youths.

The man was repeatedly assaulted by the group before one member of the group assaulted the woman.

The injured man and woman later attended Coffs Harbour Hospital for treatment.

Officers from Coffs-Clarence Police District were notified and commenced an investigation.

As inquiries continue, investigators are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam vision to come forward.
