Investigations underway following restaurant break-ins in Newtown

Police are investigating after three restaurants were broken into at Newtown overnight, NSW Police say.

Officers from Newtown Local Area Command were called to King Street, near Elizabeth Street following reports of the break-ins.

An unknown male has entered the premises and stolen cash.

Officers would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of African or Indian Sub-continental appearance and was last seen wearing a grey coloured jacket, blue jeans and black runners.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Newtown Police or Crime Stoppers.
