JACET Charges - Child Abuse - Berrimah

Northern Territory Police have charged a 29-year-old male in relation to child sex offences in Berrimah last week.

NT police executed a search warrant on a residence in the Berrimah on Sunday 22 August 2021, where two computers and a data storage device were seized.

On Friday 27 August 2021, detectives from the Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team arrested the male and he has since been charged with:

  • 3x Use carriage service to access child abuse material

The male has been remanded in custody and due to appear before Darwin Local Court today.

Detective Acting Sergeant Maree Scott said, "This type of behaviour is completely unacceptable. The investigation shows the importance of multi-agency operations working together to apprehend those in our community who pose a serious risk to those vulnerable in our community. The Northern Territory JACET will continue to work with national and international partners to keep the community safe."
