Japanese Kimekomi Mari Fabric Ball Workshop: Bayside

Rockdale Library will be hosting a Kimekomi Mari Workshop, showcasing the traditional Japanese cultural artistry.

The workshop will take place on Friday 20 March from 10:30am - 12:30pm.

Kimekomi, originating in Kyoto during the 18th century, involves tucking fabric into carved lines to form elegant patterns on a ball-shaped base, creating decorative, patchwork-style ornaments.

In this workshop, participants will enjoy guided instruction to craft their very own Kimekomi Mari ball keychain.

No sewing experience is needed, and craft beginners are welcome and encouraged to attend.

This event is offered exclusively to Bayside Library members aged 16 and over but joining free and can be easily completed online. Registration for the event is essential.
