Ever wanted to collaborate on an artwork, eat a remarkable sandwich, drink a glass of McWilliams wine or hear a range of creative ideas?
Why not do all four at once with artist Jason Richardson at the closing of his exhibition Earthwords & Soundscaping at Griffith Regional Art Gallery from 1pm on Sunday, 27 October.
The so-called "one-man festival of ideas" is a free event and includes an artist talk and participatory workshop.
"This exhibition Earthwords & Soundscaping features Haiku poetry, photography and music videos, so the closing event aims to infuse tastes and tactile activity for a smorgasbord of stimulation. We will be sharing a snack after witnessing the collision of Dadaist art-making with a Japanese tradition in the Australian landscape," Mr Richardson said.
"Everyone attending on the day will have an opportunity to take home a collaborative piece, as well as discuss creative techniques."
Jason has an unconventional approach to art-making that is grounded in and informed by conventions of the past. His interdisciplinary approach is shaped by concepts found in literature and poetry, classical and modern art as well as underground music.
Griffith Regional Art Gallery Coordinator, Ray Wholohan said, "Jason has been active as artist, cultural-maker and curator for many years now and has an inspiring, dynamic and thought provoking arts practice. Anyone interested in art or ideas about cultural production will absolutely love Jason's floor talk."
