Wednesday, 3 December 2025: Jetstar has today celebrated the launch of its inaugural flight from Brisbane to Cebu, marking a brand-new service connecting Queenslanders with one of Asia's most exciting holiday destinations.
The seasonal route adds more than 37,000 low-fare seats annually, giving travellers an affordable and convenient way to experience Cebu's white sand beaches, world-class diving, and vibrant island culture in just over six hours.
This milestone follows last week's launch of Jetstar's new Perth to Manila service, further expanding the airline's international network between Australia and the Philippines.
The route has been so popular that Jetstar has already added an extra weekly service to the schedule for the new year.
Together, these two routes provide more than 109,000 low-fare seats each year, opening incredible new holiday options for Australians and direct flights for Filipinos visiting Australia.
Jetstar currently has fares from Brisbane to Cebu from $249^ one-way at jetstar.com.
Jetstar's growth
The launch of the Brisbane to Cebu route is part of Jetstar's commitment to giving travellers more choice than ever before - more destinations, more aircraft, and more opportunities to take off more, for less.
In 2025 alone, Jetstar has announced 13 new domestic and international routes to destinations including Cebu, Manila, Rarotonga (Cook Islands) and Queenstown (New Zealand).
The airline's growth is supported by significant investment in its next-generation fleet, including state-of-the-art Airbus A321LR and A320neo aircraft, as well as a major refresh of its 787 fleet, providing customers with more in-flight comfort and choice.
Holiday peak travel
The first Brisbane to Cebu flight marks the beginning of Jetstar's Christmas peak travel period, with the airline set to fly over two million people to and from Queensland throughout December and January.
Travellers are encouraged to plan ahead and arrive at the airport early to ensure a smooth journey.
Jetstar Group CEO Stephanie Tully said the launch of the Brisbane to Cebu service represents another exciting step in Jetstar's growth.
"As demand for international travel continues to rise, our expanding fleet is allowing us to deliver more low fares to exciting new destinations.
"Cebu is an amazing holiday option for our customers, with its rich history, pristine beaches and impressive food scene.
"We're thrilled to be the first low-cost carrier to connect Brisbane directly to Cebu, giving Aussies an affordable and easy way to experience this incredible destination.
"And with the Christmas holidays marking one of our busiest travel periods of the year, it's an especially exciting time for Jetstar as we welcome more customers onboard to celebrate the season."
Brisbane Airport CEO Gert-Jan de Graaff said the addition of the seasonal service brings Brisbane Airport to 35 international destinations for Queenslanders to explore.
"We are delighted to welcome this new service to Brisbane Airport, creating a new direct link between Australia and Cebu and strengthening our connection with the Philippines just in time for the busy holiday travel period.
"It offers Queenslanders easier access to one of Asia's most breathtaking island destinations, from a canyoneering adventure in Kawasan Falls, witnessing the world-famous sardine run in Moalboal or enjoying the spectacular sunsets the Philippines are renowned for.
"The addition of this service will also be welcomed by Queensland's large Filipino community, making it easier to connect with family, while boosting trade and business opportunities between our two regions."
Philippine Ambassador to Australia H.E. Antonio A. Morales said: "We are thrilled to welcome Jetstar's new flight route from Brisbane to Cebu, making it easier than ever to discover the beauty of our islands and experience the warmth of Filipino hospitality.
"This new gateway strengthens the strategic partnership of the Philippines and Australia, and opens exciting opportunities for trade, tourism, and cultural connections. We are excited to welcome more Australian visitors to our shores."
