Cooma Wombat Crossing.jpg

Jillamatong Street, Jindabyne will be closed between Barry Way and Rawson Street for approximately three weeks starting Thursday 21 May 2026, weather permitting, for the construction of a new raised pedestrian crossing.

Local access to the Whispering Gully childcare centre and residential properties will remain available via Gippsland Street and Reedys Cutting Road.

Known as a wombat crossing, the raised design of the new pedestrian infrastructure improves safety, provides greater visibility, and will help reduce the incidence of speeding in one of Jindabyne's fastest-growing residential areas.
