Calling all nature lovers – Georges River Council is launching a new Bushcare group in Beverly Hills Park (Black Forest Reserve) and you're invited to sign up!
Bushcare volunteers help care for local bushland. Alongside a dedicated team of Council's Bushcare Officers, they restore native habitat, improve biodiversity, and protect the natural areas that make Georges River special.
The program continues to grow each year. Local volunteers contribute hundreds of hours to weed removal, native planting, propagation and habitat restoration across the local area.
It's also a fun, social way to meet like-minded neighbours and feel more connected to your local community.
Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, "The bushland that surrounds us is part of what makes Georges River special, and its future depends on our shared care.
"The new Beverly Hills Park Bushcare group gives residents of Hurstville Ward a simple and rewarding way to protect local plants and wildlife, while also enjoying a social morning with neighbours.
"I encourage our community to get involved and help look after these places for a greener future."
Sessions are open to all ages and abilities. No experience is needed. All tools and training are provided by Council's Bushcare Officers.
