The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today met with Ayman Safadi, Jordan's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, in Amman, Jordan.
Minister Joly thanked Minister Safadi for Jordan's continued constructive role in the Middle East. She expressed Canada's serious concerns over the devastating impacts of Hamas's terrorist attack on Israel and the dire humanitarian toll on Palestinian civilians.
Minister Joly and Minister Safadi engaged on the escalating violence and rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation and they agreed that humanitarian access must be established in Gaza as soon as possible.
The ministers remain committed to continue closely coordinating their efforts to help de-escalate the crisis.
