Jones swears in as Department of Air Force financial management and comptroller lead

Kristyn E. Jones was sworn in as Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Financial Management and Comptroller May 4, following her confirmation to the role by the U.S. Senate, April 28.

Prior to her confirmation, Jones, a U.S. Army veteran, most recently served as a Managing Director in KPMG's Federal Advisory practice and as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Information Management.

"We welcome Kristyn to the Department and recognize how fortunate we are to have her joining our team," said Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall. "Her leadership and experience serving in various financial management and technology roles will be critical to supporting Department of the Air Force priorities as we look to accelerate transformation to stay ahead of our pacing challenges."

Jones joins the Department during a critical time and will be responsible for managing a nearly $200 billion budget to modernize the Air and Space Forces.
