Just ONE WEEK to go until Sydney Memory Walk & Jog

It's almost time to put on your runners, with only one week to go until the Sydney Memory Walk & Jog. And the great news is there is still time to register!

Dementia Australia CEO Maree McCabe is encouraging the local community to get active and beat dementia. You can help reach the fundraising target of $1.5 million by registering online or on the day, Sunday 19 May 2019, at Leichhardt Oval #3, Maliyawul St, Lilyfield.

"We're expecting record numbers of Australians to take part in the Memory Walk & Jog, and so have set ourselves an ambitious fundraising target, which I am sure we can achieve with the generous support of the Sydney community," Ms McCabe said.

"You can walk to remember a loved one, or in support of a friend or neighbour, and you can participate either as part of a group or individually. The course is family-friendly, and, no matter your age or level of fitness, we encourage you to participate and join in the fun. Everyone is welcome! You can even register a place for your dog, who will receive a free Memory Walk & Jog bandana.

"There are still spots available for the 2km or 7.5km and walk, jog or run, so join us by registering online at www.memorywalk.com.au, or come along and register on the day itself. And if you can't take part, you can still show your support by making a donation on the website."

Memory Walk & Jog raises much-needed funds to support the work of Dementia Australia, which provides invaluable support, education and resources for people living with dementia in Australia, their carers, families and friends.

There will be prizes for the top fundraisers, as well as raffles, entertainment for the whole family, food stalls, a jumping castle and a special guest appearance from Memory Walk & Jog mascot, Al the Elephant.

Don't miss out on your opportunity to register for Dementia Australia's biggest fundraiser of the year! Online registrations at www.memorywalk.com.au close at midnight on Thursday 16 May, with on the day registrations opening at 7am on-site.
