Karinie Street Pavement Reconstruction Work

Karinie

With kerb and channel works now complete, the Karinie Street project is progressing to pavement reconstruction.
Swan Hill Rural City Council advises schools in the area that temporary traffic management arrangements on Karinie Street, will increase as pavement reconstruction works commence. While traffic management has been in place during previous stages of the project, road users should expect additional traffic controls and the potential for increased delays during these works expected to commence mid-August 2026.
The works will occur on Karinie Street between Richards Road and the Murray Valley Highway and will require temporary lane closures and detours. Motorists and buses may experience minor delays while works are underway.
To ensure the safety of workers and road users, traffic controllers and temporary traffic signals may be in operation. A signed detour route for through traffic will be available via:
  • Murlong Street
  • Saleyards Road
  • Thurla Street
  • Clarke Street
  • Richards Road
Council encourages schools to share this information with staff, families and bus operators, and to allow additional travel time during the construction period. Parents and carers dropping off or collecting students are encouraged to plan ahead and follow all traffic management signage.
Council apologises for any inconvenience and appreciates the community's patience and cooperation while these important road improvements are completed.
