NT Health is evacuating Katherine Hospital due to an emergency flood warning.
NT Health is evacuating 21 patients from the Katherine Hospital to Darwin so they can continue to receive medical care. In addition, up to 20 pregnant women will be evacuated as a precaution.
The patients will be transferred by air, with three high acuity patients to be transported by CareFlight.
Families of evacuated patients are requested to remain in Katherine, as it is currently not safe to travel, with the Stuart Highway closed due to flooding.
NT Health will continue to keep families informed about their loved ones through regular updates.
Staff accommodation at the Katherine Hospital precinct has also been evacuated.

NT Health requests that people do not to present to the Katherine Hospital during this time.
A mini hospital Emergency Department (ED) is open at the St John Ambulance headquarters on Chardon Street.
