Kelmscott Armed Robbery Charge, WA

Armadale Detectives have charged a man in relation to an armed robbery at a service station in Kelmscott this morning, Sunday 13 November 2016.

About 12:10am a man entered the service station on Albany Highway and approached the counter armed with weapon, believed to be a crowbar. The man demanded cash. The staff member complied with the demands, and the man left the store with an amount of cash and cigarettes, WA Police say.

A description of the offender was broadcast by police officers, and a short time later PTA Transit Officers identified a man matching the description of the offender. They arrested and detained the man at the Seaforth Train Station. Police attended and confirmed it was the person they were looking for and took him into custody.

A 24 year old man from Kelmscott has been charged with Armed Robbery. He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today, Sunday 13 November 2016.
