Kelmscott Fatal Crash - Information Sought, WA

Major Crash investigators are asking for the public’s assistance for information regarding a fatal crash in Kelmscott yesterday, Friday 2 September 2016.

At approximately 3:45pm, a white Hino truck was travelling west on the Brookton Highway and a white Dodge utility towing a caravan with a third trailer attached that was loaded with quad bikes, was travelling east, WA Police say.

As the Dodge passed the Stony Brook Bridge on Brookton Highway, the third trailer with the quad bikes has become unhitched from the caravan. The unhitched trailer crossed onto the incorrect side of the road and collided heavily with the right side of the Hino truck.

The 55 year old male driver of the Hino truck received critical injuries as a result of the crash and was taken to Armadale Hospital where he later died. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the crash, or the Dodge utility with caravan and trailer or the Hino truck prior to the crash.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
