Construction update
Your new Kew Recreation Centre is taking shape.
The steel structure above the warm-water pool is being installed.
Plumbing for the 25-metre, learn-to-swim and leisure pools is complete, and concrete is being poured for the surrounding concourse.
Work is about to begin on the structure around the sports courts. Precast columns are being delivered and will form a strong foundation for the steel framework above.
Meanwhile, the steel for the structure around the leisure pool, change rooms and amenities is being fabricated in a Melbourne-based workshop. It will arrive on site in sections over the coming months for installation.
