Key Assets To Back Norfolk's Youth And Families

Dept of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications

Key Assets, through NI-Connect, will continue to lead and deliver child and family wellbeing services on Norfolk Island, giving continuity and stability in this critical area, following their recent contract extension to 30 June 2026.

These services are aimed at providing the best possible environment, experiences and care for local children and young people. They include community education, programs for children and young people and parenting support to encourage local young people and families to reach their potential and promote safety in the community.

One-on-one advice and assistance is available for families in need of additional support. Key Assets will continue to play a role in the community in investigating child safety concerns, providing family mediation, and supporting out-of-home care placements.

Under the contract, Key Assets work closely with local families and the community, in collaboration with other services such as childcare, Norfolk Island Health and Residential Aged Care Services (NIHRACS), NICS, police, NIRC and governments.

Through this, the Department and our service partner support the maintenance of existing high-quality services, tailored to the needs of the Norfolk Island community and in line with comparable mainland services.

Through this contract, there will continue to be a focus on expansion of services available to all families on island - as part of the Australian Government's commitment to the health, safety and wellbeing of Norfolk Island's children and families.
