Having a valid Will is one of the most important things you can do for yourself and your family. Not only does a Will legally protect your partner, children, pets, and assets, it also ensures your wishes are clearly outlined for when you're no longer here.
Why you should have a Will
A valid Will gives you peace of mind, knowing your loved ones are protected and that you've done what you can to reduce their stress at a difficult time.
Almost 50 per cent of West Australians don't have a valid Will. Without one, your estate is divided according to the rules of intestacy under WA law, which may not reflect your wishes. Having a legally valid Will helps ensure your estate is handled as you intended - often more quickly and cost-effectively - and can reduce emotional and financial burdens for your loved ones.
You can even include provisions in your Will to ensure your pets are looked after, recognising them as important members of your family.
A special offer to help you get started
