Kilmore, Wallan Targeted in Theft Spree Investigation

Mitchell Volume Crime Reduction Team officers are appealing for public assistance following a series of thefts, petrol thefts and $10,000 worth of tools stolen in the Kilmore and Wallan areas earlier this month.

Investigators believe a man and woman, travelling in a stolen Toyota Landcruiser, were involved in more than a dozen thefts or attempted thefts in Kilmore, Wallan and Wollert between Saturday 9 August to Monday 11 August.

It is understood the tools were stolen from an Isuzu utility, which was parked on a construction site at Speckled Warbler Loop in Wallan, about 4am on 10 August.

Investigators believe stolen credit cards were also used to purchase fuel from a Queen Street service station in Wallan just after 5.30am on 10 August.

Police believe the same offenders then stole a blue Ford Maverick from outside a residence on Foxtail Court in Wallan a short time later about 5.45am.

More than $600 worth of petrol was later stolen in jerry cans from a Harvest Home Road service station in Wollert, using a box trailer being towed by the stolen Landcruiser, about 8pm on 11 August.

The Landcruiser, which was stolen in Preston on 2 August, was located burnt out on Raynors Road in Clonbinane on 12 August.

Investigators have released images and CCTV footage of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.

He is described as being aged in his 20s or 30s, Caucasian in appearance with a medium build.

He was wearing a white hooded jumper, black trackpants, black gloves, white Nike shoes and a baseball cap.

The female offender is described as Caucasian with a thin build, dark hair and was wearing a black jacket and black beanie.
