The extension at Knox Skate and BMX Park at Gilbert Park Knoxfield is complete and open for action, delivering more space and a broader range of street and transition features.
The project was shaped by community input, with local riders, parents and young people sharing what they wanted most in an improved park, from smoother flow to a mix of features for different skill levels. Those ideas helped guide the final design. Built to welcome everyone, the extended park also includes shaded seating, upgraded lighting and improved pathways that make it easier to move around the space.
The extension was delivered this year with $250,000 in State Government funding through Sport and Recreation Victoria, alongside $600,000 from Council.
