La Trobe Calls On Alumni Ahead Of 60th Anniversary

La Trobe University

Did you rock to The Ramones and INXS at La Trobe's Union Hall? Or attend the University's Moat Festival? Maybe you did your nursing placement at The Alfred Hospital, and saved your assignments to floppy disc?

La Trobe is looking for graduates from the 1980s and 1990s who may have lost contact with the University over the years as it prepares to celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2027.

As people move, change phone numbers and email addresses, they sometimes lose touch with the places and people who shaped a significant chapter of their lives.

For hundreds of thousands of people in the past 60 years, La Trobe played an important and defining role in their lives, and the University wants to make sure all its alumni community has the opportunity to be part of this huge anniversary milestone.

La Trobe University Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Theo Farrell said alumni are an enduring part of the University community.

"Our graduates are an important part of who we are as a university. For almost 60 years, La Trobe alumni have taken their knowledge, ideas and experiences into communities across Australia and internationally, making a positive contribution to the world around them.

"As we approach our 60th anniversary, we want to celebrate their stories and reconnect with all those who have helped make the University what it is today. Whether they graduated recently or decades ago, our alumni will always be part of the La Trobe community."

Graduates are also encouraged to reach out to former classmates, friends and family members to help spread the word.
