Labor and Greens run out of questions on day one

John Tucker,Liberal Member for Lyons

If yesterday's Budget Estimates hearings were anything to go by, the remainder of the week is certain to be an unnecessarily tedious and repetitive affair.

In what can only be due to a lack of preparation and imagination, both Labor and the Greens have continuously asked the exact same questions across all hearings – not because the answers were not provided, but simply because they did not like the answers.

In Premier's Parks and Tourism hearing alone, I heard the same questions being asked, not just once or twice, but up to three times!

Cassy O'Connor in particular seems intent on asking the same questions and expecting a different response. When she is not interrupting the response, Ms O'Connor then has the gall to protest that the time allocation is up and she hasn't had her questions answered!

This may be my first Budget Estimates hearings, but I know when people are wasting Tasmanians' time and are too ignorant to accept the facts.
