Labor's desperation to avoid discussing pokies policy

Mark Shelton,Liberal Member for Lyons

Rebecca White's attempted stunt in Parliament this morning demonstrates how desperate she is to avoid talking about her pokies policy backflip.

Faced with the embarrassment of having to speak on the Greens MPI on pokies, Labor tried every trick in the book to get out of having to explain their backflip on the floor of Parliament.

When their maneuvere failed and Ms White was forced to speak, she talked about everything but her own policy and why she's backed away.

As usual, Labor have chosen to play their typical petty political games rather than focusing on the things that matter to Tasmanians.

Today the Parliament has more important matters to progress such as electoral reform, yet Labor's only priority are stunts.

It only further reinforces what Tasmanians are saying about the Opposition Leader – that she has no policies and no principles, and will do anything to avoid taking a position on the hard issues.
