Labor's integrity crisis deepens with allegations of CFMEU coercion

Liberal Party Victoria

The Andrews Labor Government is facing another integrity crisis with allegations of coercion involving the CFMEU on Government funded construction projects.

Recent media reports allege that construction contractors are being forced to enter into agreements with the CFMEU in order to obtain contracts on State Government projects.

These allegations of coercion are deeply concerning, and raise serious concerns about the involvement of Government Ministers and departmental staff.

Shadow Minister for Industrial Relations, Nick Wakeling, said the Andrews Labor Government is plagued by an integrity crisis.

"These allegations of coercion involving preferential deals with the CFMEU on Andrews Government projects are deeply concerning," Mr Wakeling said.

"This is yet another example of the crisis they are facing when it comes to integrity in Government."
