Land Secured For New Rhodes Fire Station

The City of Canada Bay has facilitated the acquisition of land at Oulton Avenue Rhodes, by Fire and Rescue NSW - a key step toward enhancing emergency services infrastructure in our growing community.

"This is an important milestone for Rhodes, and we thank Fire and Rescue NSW for their commitment to enhancing emergency services in our area," said Mayor Michael Megna.

"I want to commend Council staff for this important piece of work, alongside Fire and Rescue NSW. Together we have ensured that the needs of our community were front and centre during these complex negotiations."

Discussions between Council and Fire and Rescue NSW began in late 2024 to identify a suitable site for a future emergency services facility in the Rhodes area. After careful consideration and site review, land on Oulton Avenue was identified as the preferred location in early 2025.

Over the months that followed, Fire and Rescue NSW undertook extensive due diligence to assess the suitability of the site for operational needs. The land was formally acquired in June 2025.

"As our City continues to grow, it's vital that we continue to work in this way with all State and Federal Government agencies to support the development of this public infrastructure across Canada Bay."
