Landau Meets ROK's First Vice Foreign Minister Park

Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau met today with Republic of Korea (ROK) First Vice Foreign Minister Park Yoonjoo in Washington. The Deputy Secretary and the First Vice Foreign Minister celebrated the success of President Trump's historic October 29-30 state visit to Gyeongju that included the APEC Summit. They discussed the implementation of the U.S.-ROK Joint Fact Sheet, which includes modernizing the U.S.-ROK Alliance-the linchpin of peace, security, and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula and throughout the Indo-Pacific region for more than 70 years.

Deputy Secretary Landau welcomed the ROK's unprecedented commitment to investment in American manufacturing across key strategic sectors such as shipbuilding. The Deputy Secretary and the First Vice Foreign Minister also noted the recent achievements of the U.S.-ROK Business Travel and Visas Working Group. The Deputy Secretary reiterated that Korean investment contributes significantly to U.S. reindustrialization efforts.
