Last Prospective Councillor Session on Thursday

Orange City Council will combine the two upcoming prospective councillors' sessions and will host one only on Thursday night.

Council had proposed to host a session on Saturday, facilitated by the Australian Local Government Women's Association (ALGWA), however that session will no longer go ahead after few people registered to attend.

Council held two sessions last year, before the decision was made to postpone local government elections because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Council also hosted two sessions in March this year.

More than 60 people have attended at least one of the previous information sessions.

Thursday night's session is open to anyone who is considering running for election and will be held from 6pm to 9pm at the Council Chambers in Byng Street.

Local Government NSW facilitator and former mayor of Leichardt Council, Moira Sheehan, will appear via video link, followed by a Q&A session with Council staff.
