Latest on major road closures due to flooding in state's north

National Road Transport Association

The Bruxner Highway has reopened in both directions between West Ballina and Uralba.

The Bruxner Highway remains closed due to road damage at South Gundurimba (south of Lismore), as well between Mallanganee and Sandilands (west of Casino).

Other road closures remain in place in flood-affected parts of the state's north, including:

  • Between Broadwater and Woodburn: Blackwall Drive, Langs Way, River Street and Tuckombil Road (Old Pacific Highway) are closed.
    • The Pacific Highway and the M1 Pacific Motorway are currently open
  • Between Thora and Dorrigo Mountain: Waterfall Way remains closed in both directions due to a landslide.

Some local roads are closed as well. Check local council pages and social media sites for updates.

Motorists are reminded never to drive through floodwater. Motorists should follow the directions of emergency services and take extreme care as conditions can change quickly.
