Latrobe Leisure Morwell has been awarded Gold Safety Accreditation by Life Saving Victoria, achieving the highest level of recognition available under the Pool Safety Endorsement Program.
The accreditation follows a recent independent Pool Safety Assessment conducted by Life Saving Victoria and recognises facilities that demonstrate exceptional performance across all areas of aquatic safety and operations.
Gold Accreditation is only awarded to facilities that achieve 100 percent compliance across all assessed operational requirements and receive an overall safety score exceeding 95 percent.
The assessment is benchmarked against the Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations and evaluates areas including lifeguard supervision, emergency preparedness, first aid capability, water quality management, chemical handling, facility operations and overall risk management.
Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Sharon Gibson, said the achievement was something the whole community could be proud of.
"Achieving Gold Safety Accreditation is a fantastic result for Latrobe Leisure Morwell and a real credit to our Morwell Leisure team," the Mayor said.
"Our staff put a huge amount of effort into making sure the centre is safe, welcoming and enjoyable for every visitor."
"This recognition gives our community confidence that Latrobe Leisure Morwell is operating to the highest standard and continuing to deliver a great experience for everyone."
The Gold Safety Accreditation further strengthens Latrobe Leisure Morwell's reputation as a leading aquatic facility in the region and reinforces Council's commitment to supporting healthy, active and connected communities.
