Laughs Are Looming: Wagga Comedy Fest Two Weeks Away

The 2026 Wagga Comedy Fest is coming up on the June long weekend, 4 – 7 June, and tickets are selling fast!

An annual fixture on Wagga Wagga's events calendar, the Comedy Fest is held across four performance venues: the Civic Theatre, Riverina Playhouse, The Laugh Lounge and the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery's E3 Art Space, known as The Clubhouse for the festival.

This is not a drill. Bron Lewis? Sold out. Tom Gleeson? Sold out. Friendlyjordies? Sold out. Trivia in the Laugh Lounge? Full. If you have a ticket to these, congratulations, you made excellent life choices.

Don't get FOMO (fear of missing out), get tickets! Here's what you can still get your hands on (for now):

Jimmy Rees on Thursday night, Alex Ward & Claire Hooper on Friday night, and Mel Buttle and Denise Scott on Sunday night.

The Great Debate is still available — genuinely unmissable and completely unscripted chaos with local comedians Jamie Way, Peter Casey and Leigh Ryan.

Civic Theatre Manager Claire Harris said "If you've been sitting on the fence, I say this with kindness — get off it.

"What we've built here over the past 10 years is something really special. Wagga Wagga is not a city that gets overlooked — comedians want to come here, and the audiences show up for them.

"Missing out on one show doesn't mean missing out on the weekend. That's the beauty of a festival format — there is always something extraordinary around the corner."

The Laugh Lounge also returns this year; the marquee set up on the lawn in front of the Civic Theatre will have a bar, with fire buckets and plenty of heaters to keep everyone warm, and food by local vendors available for purchase.

A marquee with a clear ceiling and polished floorboards. There are people sitting and standing around mingling.
WARM UP AREA: The Laugh Lounge returns to the 2026 Wagga Comedy Fest for patrons to grab a drink or something to eat before, after and between shows.

Also, this year, as part of the Weathering Well program, the Laugh Bus will be bringing residents from out of town to the Comedy Fest on Sunday evening.

Picking up and dropping off residents from the south: Yerong Creek, The Rock and Uranquinty, and from the east: Tarcutta, Ladysmith and Forest Hill, the Laugh Bus is free with the purchase of tickets to Comedy Fest shows including Bearded Bingo, Mel Buttle and Denise Scott.
