Launceston residents are in for a treat on the 21st of April as Civic Square will be transformed into an outdoor cinema and dining experience. Dinner And A Movie is a monthly event that takes place on the third Friday of each month, providing live entertainment and outdoor films. The upcoming event promises to be even bigger and better than the inaugural event held in March.
Local vendors such as The Burger Van, Mai Thai, Halls Barbeque, Food of the Himalayas, A Taste of Ghan, The Devil's Own, and Floss Boss will be present to offer a variety of cuisines to attendees. Wine and beer stalls will also be available for those who want to have a drink while enjoying the evening.
The event will start at 4:30 pm and continue until 9:00 pm, with live entertainment from Richard Steele until 6:30 pm. At sunset, the outdoor film "The Peanut Butter Falcon" will be screened.
Dinner And A Movie is a growing event, with plans to add and upgrade each month. The inaugural event in March saw over 300 people attend, thanks to the event's Facebook page and word of mouth. For April, the event organizers are increasing their Facebook presence, adding six large road signs at major thoroughfares, and listing the event on community radio.
The event is free to attend, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets or chairs for comfort. With upcoming events planned for the 19th of May and beyond, Dinner And A Movie promises to be a fun-filled and enjoyable experience for all.
