Launceston police investigating stolen TasRail vehicles

Launceston detectives are appealing to the public for information about the stealing of four vehicles from the Newstead TasRail depot on Saturday, 4 January 2020.

Police have since recovered two white Mitsubishi ASX SUVs, and a 28 year old Ravenswood man has been charged in relation to one of the stolen cars.

Detective Sergeant Darren Turner said the other two stolen vehicles were still missing.

"We are yet to locate a white 2016 Ford Ranger utility and a blue 2019 Tucson Hyundai, so anyone who has any information regarding this matter is asked to please come forward."

The missing vehicles are:

  • A white 2016 Ford Ranger utility (registration E48WY) with 'TasRail' signage.
  • A blue Tucson 2019 model Hyundai (registration I72LW) 'Avis' rental car.
