Lead Way and Blaze Your Trail workshops at WAG

The Warrnambool Art Gallery is thrilled to be partnering with the Wheeler Centre for Blaze Your Trail: Youth Activism Workshop and Jean Hinchliffe: Lead the Way - two upcoming workshops for young activists at the Warrnambool Art Gallery. In an ever changing-world, the power of words, advocacy, and knowing how to push back has never been more important for young people.

Tuesday 13 April, join non-binary writer, performer, and activist Nevo Zisin for our Blaze Your Trail: Youth Activism Workshop. Tackling topics from empowerment and imposter syndrome, to self-confidence, self-care and community-care - this afternoon workshop is perfect for budding activists between the ages of 13 and 21.

Whether you're passionate about climate change, human rights, gender equality or animal conservation - this workshop will give you the opportunity to learn more about how to get involved in activism, and hear more about inspiring stories of powerful young change-makers across a variety of fields. Nevo will provide everyone with a practical, creative entry point towards becoming an activist and introduce you to other young people who want to change the world.

Blaze Your Trail: Youth Activism Workshop with Nevo Zisin

Venue: Warrnambool Art Gallery, 26 Liebig St, Warrnambool

Time: 4.00pm-5.00pm

Tickets: This is a free event. Bookings are essential.

Book: Book online via the Wheeler Centre website.

And on the evening of 13 April, we're looking forward to an in-depth conversation between Nevo Zisin and 17-year-old climate activist and School Strike 4 Climate organiser Jean Hinchcliffe. At 17 years old, Jean has already got enough tips, tools and stories to fill a book. In fact, she's done just that. Lead the Way: How to change the world from a teen activist and school striker is her first book - 'the ultimate guide to activism and making change'.

In conversation with writer and LGBTIQA+ activist Nevo Zisin, Jean will discuss her activist journey and share tips for how other young people can follow in her footsteps. Learn more about how to identify your cause, find allies, plan a march, nail your messaging, talk in public and work with the media - all while making sure you look after yourself and your friends along the way. Don't miss this conversation that's perfect to inspire activists and ground-breakers of all ages.
