About 8.15 pm yesterday a 35-year-old Bridgewater man was charged with multiple traffic offences after he was found travelling at 133 kmh in a 100 kmh zone on the Brooker Highway at Claremont.
Inspector Jim Semmens said the suspended learner driver, who was unaccompanied by a licenced driver, also returned a breath alcohol reading of 0.154, three times over the legal limit.
"His licence was immediately suspended for a period of two years."
"Disappointingly, the man also had 4 children in the car at the time he was intercepted."
"This is an example of poor driver behaviour that could very easily result in tragedy," said Inspector Semmens.
"Our message is simple, don't speed, don't drink and drive, wear your seatbelt, and don't drive tired or distracted."
