Wounding Charges At Redbank

A teenage boy has been charged in relation to a wounding incident at Redbank yesterday afternoon, 17 July.

Emergency services were called to Mine Street at approximately 1.59pm where they located the 45-year-old male driver of a ride-share vehicle with serious injuries.

He was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital with a non-life-threatening wound to his stomach.

Two males and one female fled the scene but were arrested a short time later.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with one count each of acts intended maim, enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, and attempted unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He is due to appear in Ipswich Children's Court today.

The other two teenagers were released without charge.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to contact police.
