Leeton Museum and Art Gallery (LMAG) will temporarily close its doors from Monday 17 November to Monday 1 December 2025 to safely complete the final stage of the building's long-awaited lift installation.

This exciting upgrade opens up public access to the first floor, creating more opportunities for exhibition spaces.

Portfolio Lead for Arts and Culture, Cr Michael Kidd, welcomed the progress, stating, "Investing in accessibility ensures more members of our community and visitors can engage with LMAG's exhibitions, programs, and events. This is about creating a space that everyone can enjoy, without barriers."

Cr Kidd also extended an apology for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure, noting the importance of ensuring public safety throughout this part of the installation.

Proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with Leeton Shire Council, this project benefits from grant funding of $197,244, with additional support from Leeton Shire Council of $49,311 and $18,310 of in‑kind contributions.

LMAG will reopen to the public on Tuesday, 2 December 2025. Announcements on the first exhibition upstairs will be made in the new year.
