Police have charged a 30-year-old man following an assault at Leichhardt on 28 February.
Around 11.20pm it is alleged the man attended a property on Ludwig Street where he engaged in a verbal altercation with a male resident, before striking the man with a bladed weapon, causing injuries to his face and armpit.
The offender then left the scene with a woman known to him who was at the property at the time.
A 20-year-old Tara man was treated at the scene before being transported to Ipswich Hospital in a serious condition.
Following further investigations, the man and woman were located at a Lowood property on 1 March, where the man was taken into police custody.
A 25-year-old Lowood woman was not physically injured.
A 30-year-old man was charged with one count of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm domestic violence offence.
He has been remanded in custody to reappear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on 18 March.
