Officers from Geelong Highway Patrol intercepted a dangerous driver in Leopold overnight.
Police were patrolling Portarlington Road, Moolap around 11.50pm when the detected a silver Kia Sorrento travelling at 131km/h in a 80km/h zone.
The driver then speed up to an alleged 192km/h in the 100km/h zone.
Officers intercepted the car in Leopold and spoke to the driver, a 41-year-old man from Grovedale.
The man underwent a preliminary oral fluid test which indicated a positive result.
He has been interviewed for drug driving offences and is expected to be charged with excessive speed, drive while suspended and other traffic offences.
The Kia was not impounded as it was a rental vehicle.
