Lets Get Physical: Optus partners with Healthy Mummy with 10-minute family friendly workouts

Optus has partnered with The Healthy Mummy to create a series of fast, fun, family-friendly workouts, accessible through OS Fitness, available on the Optus Sport site and app, and on the Healthy Mummy site and app.

The newly launched Healthy Mummy content showcases instructors leading kids and their parents through exercises that keep kids engaged for no more than 10 minutes a perfect addition for remote learning during lockdown.

Optus launched OS Fitness in 2020 after listening to customers being stuck at home during COVID lockdowns. As fitness providers also moved to online delivery of their classes, Optus Sport expanded its content offering beyond competitive football by including home workouts on the Optus Sport app.

We are so pleased to partner with The Healthy Mummy and to promote home fitness content that is fun and accessible for the whole family, with more than 50 workouts available, said Anshika Grover, Director of Innovation Strategy and Connected Health at Optus.

Optus is committed to connecting customers with technology that improves their lives, and innovative options that they love - OS Fitness is the perfect example of that. We have listened to our customers and expanded our OS Fitness offering to give our customers even more choice and flexibility, especially at a time when there are varying levels of restrictions for many Australians, said Ms. Grover.

In a survey of 2,500 mums, The Healthy Mummy found that 57 per cent of people did more exercise in the past year because of the COVID-19 lockdowns. The Healthy Mummy founder, Rhian Allen wanted to offer healthy options for families who were looking to do something active and fun while at home together.

Family fitness is so important, not just for physical health but for mental health too. This partnership is a great opportunity for Optus to team up with a trusted leader in the health and fitness space with a shared mission in helping families to adopt healthy habits relating to fitness at home, said Ms. Allen.

The survey revealed that 67 per cent of respondents prefer doing at-home workouts compared to gym workouts due to the ease and convenience of working out at home. The survey also found that 72 per cent of mothers believe kids are encouraged to move when they see their parents exercise, and another 61 per cent of mothers are trying to find ways to get kids to move and exercise more.

This new partnership with Optus and OS Fitness gives people the chance to do easy 10-minute workouts to keep the whole family fit and active, added Allen.

Unlike most fitness videos targeted to adults, these workouts help both adults and kids to bond through simple and fun online classes.
