LGH Co-Location Issue Highlights Tasmanian Gov's Integrity Gap

Tas Labor

Once again, the Rockliff minority Government has had to be dragged kicking and screaming to admit to bad news.

This time it's with the failed co-location of the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) and Calvary withdrawing from the project.

It was only when Labor expressed doubt about the future of the project and the media started asking questions that the government was forced to admit the project had fallen over.

When did the government know that Calvary had withdrawn from the project? How long had the government known about it?

If we hadn't raised the issue the Rockliff Government would have been happy to keep the people of northern Tasmania in the dark to avoid having to deal with bad news.

This is a government that is in chaos and more interested in spin and deception than urgently dealing with the major issues facing the state such as cost of living, health, child care and housing.
