Library programs are back

Calling all knitters, sewers, and chess players - your weekly sessions are returning to Camden's libraries!

As COVID-19 restrictions ease, the passive knitting, sewing and chess groups are now able to meet weekly again. The programs, which have been widely missed by the Camden community, will run as follows:

  • Knitting Groups at Narellan Library on Thursdays and at Camden Library on Fridays, 10am-noon;
  • Sewing Group at Narellan Library on Mondays, 10am-noon; and
  • Chess Group at Camden Library on Thursdays, 2-4pm.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said the returning sessions would provide a space for residents to do what they love in good company.

"These sessions provide a great environment for residents to develop their skills while connecting and developing friendships with others also attending," Cr Fedeli said.

"I would encourage residents to take advantage of what we have on offer, especially after they were on hiatus for so long. It's terrific to have them returning.

"COVID-19 safety measures are in place, making this a safe space to attend. Camden Libraries have an abundance of programs and activities for everyone to get involved in. I recommend finding something for you!"

Bookings are essential and open one day prior to each scheduled session, at 9:30am.
