Liechtenstein Boosts 2025 Contributions to Victims Fund

ICC

The Principality of Liechtenstein, a State Party to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) since 2001, has made voluntary contributions totalling EUR 63,490 to the Trust Fund for Victims (TFV) in 2025 - its highest contributions to date - reaffirming its commitment to international justice and the rights of victims of crimes under the Rome Statute. Liechtenstein's voluntary contribution is of an unrestricted nature and will be used to redress the harm suffered by victims, through reparation awards ordered by the ICC and other programmes for their benefit. Additionally, the contribution stems from the Official Development Assistance (ODA) budget of Liechtenstein.

H.E. Kevin Kelly, Member of the Board of Directors of the TFV stated, "Liechtenstein has been a long-standing backer of the work done by the Trust Fund for Victims. Its firm support for our mandate reinforces the importance of reparative justice for victims of the most serious crimes of international concern. Particularly in these turbulent times for the Court, I call on other States to enhance their efforts in bringing hope and justice to countless victims around the world."

H.E. Christian Wenaweser, Permanent Representative of the Principality of Liechtenstein to the United Nations stated, "Liechtenstein is fully committed to the work carried out by the Trust Fund for Victims. We consider the victim dimension to be a crucial and significant achievement of the Rome Statute and that supporting those who have suffered the most is an indispensable part of justice. We are proud that we were able to significantly increase our contribution to the Trust Fund and hope that many more countries will join us in supporting it."

Liechtenstein has been providing regular support to the TFV through voluntary contributions since 2005. Liechtenstein's contributed amount in 2025 is its largest amount to date and is almost six times greater than its previous donation in 2024.
