Light Plane Crash in Mount Barker, WA

At approximately 5pm today, police and emergency services (DFES & SJA) were called to reports of a light aircraft with engine trouble making an emergency landing.

The aircraft, a two seater RV9, lost all power and on its approach clipped trees causing the aircraft to crash nose first onto a service road near Muirs Highway in Mount Barker, WA Police say.

The pilot and the passenger received minor injuries.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) will conduct an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
