Lightscape will return to Kings Park and Botanic Garden in 2026 with a bold new creative vision, unveiling a reimagined trail of light, sound, and storytelling amid Western Australia's extraordinary flora.

Running for seven weeks from Friday, 5 June to Sunday, 26 July 2026, the 1.8kilometre illuminated trail will once again transform the Western Australian Botanic Garden into a spectacular afterdark experience.

Since its sold-out debut in 2023, Lightscape has drawn more than 400,000 visitors and earned its place as one of Perth's premier cultural events.

The 2026 experience will guide visitors through the Western Australian Botanic Garden with more than 20 large-scale installations created by leading international artists, woven together with works from creative members of our Western Australian community.

Among the highlights are 'Herbum', an acclaimed work by French artists TILTwith stems stretching to eight metres high, and 'Mycelium Network', by United Kingdom-based artist Stevie Thompson, an installation that mimics the intricate networks of fungi. These works exemplify the world-class programming that defines the Lightscape experience.

Lightscape is presented by the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority, powered by Hancock Iron Ore, and supported by City of Perth and media partner Channel 9.

Ticket sales open from Monday, 23 March on Ticketek, and prices start at $36 for an adult, $22 for children, and $96 for a family pass. A free shuttle bus will depart each event night from Perth Busport.

As stated by the Environment Minister Matthew Swinbourn:

"There is a unique sense of wonder that comes from experiencing Kings Park illuminated at night during Lightscape. That feeling is the heart of the event, and 2026 is designed to deliver it all over again, in ways people won't expect.

"If you came to Lightscape before and loved it, this year will surprise you once again. If you have not experienced it before, this is the year to discover it.

"Lightscape is set in our iconic state botanic garden, among our unique plants, our inspiring stories, illuminated for the world to see. I'd encourage every Western Australian to secure tickets early."
