The Royal Agricultural Society Foundation (RASF) has awarded $25,000 in funding to the Lithgow Show Society for the installation of a professional sound system at the Tony Luchetti Sportsground, marking a significant milestone for the Lithgow community.

The RASF is known for its commitment to enhancing the quality of life in regional and rural Australia through funding, advocacy and support.

The funding proposal was put together by the Lithgow Show Society with support from the Lithgow City Council, the local business community, and local fire and emergency services. The funding will be put toward updating the existing sound system at the Tony Luchetti grandstand.

Representatives of Lithgow's sporting community, Lithgow City Councillors and the Lithgow show society gathered at the grandstand where Show Society member Greg Alchin announced the successful funding for the project. Mr. Alchin said, "This is a really wonderful grant for our community, and it has been so heartening to speak with all of the sporting and social groups who will benefit from this funding."

On the announcement of the funding Mayor Maree Statham stated, "This money will go a long way to improve the utility of the grandstand which is used for a range of sporting, social and agricultural events, I look forward to seeing the funding utilised in such a positive way."

Mr Alchin has indicated that the Show Society, as the recipients of the funding, will work closely with sporting and community groups to ensure that the new sound system benefits the entire community.
