Travel To China

The Hon Julie Collins MP
Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry

Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Julie Collins MP, will travel to China this week, to advance Australia's ongoing trade and market access priorities and bilateral agricultural cooperation.

China is Australia's largest market for agriculture, fisheries and forestry products, with exports valued at $20 billion in 2025-26.

As part of the visit, Minister Collins will meet with counterparts in China, including the General Administration of China Customs and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

Minister Collins will also represent and support the work of Australian farmers, producers, fishers and foresters at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, China's premier trade event.

CIIE attracts exhibitors and buyers from around the world and more than 190 Australian agrifoods exhibitors are expected to attend the global trade and investment showcase.

Under the Albanese Labor Government more than 300 market access achievements for our farmers and producers have been delivered across the globe.

This included access improvements, new markets opened and reduced costs to export.

The value of Australia's agricultural, fisheries and forestry exports reached more than $83 billion in the latest financial year, 2025-26, an increase of 63 per cent since 2020-21.

Over the past year, the Government has secured new market access opportunities in key markets including Vietnam, Indonesia, Canada and India, supporting exports of products such as blueberries, apples, rendered products and organic goods.
