- Timothy Retallack appointed a magistrate of Western Australia's Magistrates Court

Timothy Retallack has been appointed as a magistrate of the Magistrates Court of Western Australia.
Admitted to practice in 1991, Mr Retallack joins the judiciary after three decades working mainly in commercial litigation for a number of private legal firms where he held senior positions.
He has acted in a range of commercial dispute matter areas over his career including commercial building and service supply contracts, leases, partnerships, consumer law, and land sales.
Mr Retallack has also dealt with contested wills and estate matters and Family Provision Act 1972 claims.
More recently he has appeared as counsel in a variety of trials in the Supreme, District and Magistrates Courts, as well as on a number of appeals.
Mr Retallack commences in his new role on 17 November 2025. He is also concurrently appointed as a magistrate of the WA Children's Court.
