The Cook Government is supporting families to experience a day trip to Rottnest Island by waiving same-day return island admission fees for children 16 years and under between 20 and 21 September.
This year's event features an expanded program of interactive family activities, including:
- live music and entertainment;
- art, crafts, and sensory play experiences, including building a native bee hotel and creating art from recycled materials;
- conservation, wildlife and eco-education sessions such as meeting birds of prey; and
- interactive quokka talks with island rangers
Visitors travel from all over the world to Rottnest Island to see quokkas in their natural habitat. Little Quokka's Big Birthday offers a unique opportunity to learn more about these iconic marsupials while enjoying a weekend of free, family fun.
